shooter1
I am using autocad 2009 civil 3d. I have created an alignment and I am trying to import points using create points>alignment>import from file. The file is in the following format: station, offset, elevation and is a .txt file that is space delimited. When I try to import I get the following message: Invalid characters found in input string Anybody have suggestions
ScribbleJ
Not having had to use this function yet I can't give a complete or maybe even a correct answer but it sounds like to me that the syntax that Civil3D expects to see in the file is incorrect. Have you checked the help file for the correct syntax expected by C3D? Point files follow a particular format (i.e. a point file for NEZD comma delimited) would have the columns in order of Northern, Easting, Elevation, Description with commas between each one with no spaces.
