vertical horizons
I have a question concerning constraints, and it would be very helpful if I could upload an .ipt file to illustrate more clearly what my problem is. How do you upload an Inventor file? I know how to upload PDFs, JPGs, etc. But what about Inventor files?
ReMark
My guess is, since it is not on the list, it would have to be zipped. Maybe a Mod can verify.
JD Mather
In the browser find the red End of Part marker. Drag the EOP up to the top of the browser hidding all features. Save the file. In Windows Explorer right click on the filename and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. Attach the resulting *.zip file here.
vertical horizons
JDM, Now I can post my files to better illustrate my questions. Thank you.
vertical horizons
In the browser find the red End of Part marker. Drag the EOP up to the top of the browser hidding all features. Save the file. In Windows Explorer right click on the filename and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. Attach the resulting *.zip file here. I want to "zip" an .IAM, so that I can send it to this forum. (I have a question about animation.) In the past, I have 'zipped' files, using the method you listed above. However, this time I do not see where I can select "Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder". When I select Send To, my selections are: Desktop (Create Shortcut) Mail Receipient My Documents My CD drive A list of removable drives But nothing about zipping a file. Is there a difference between zipping an .IPT and zipping an .IAM? Is there another way to zip an .IAM?
JD Mather
An iam must include the ipt files or it is worthless. Place the iam and ipt files in a folder (if not already in a unique folder). (You might first need to roll up the EOP in at least the larger ipt files as previously directed to reduce file size) Right click on the folder that includes all files and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder to zip the entire folder. Attach here. If it is too large you will have to do multiple attachments of individually zipped ipt files.
ReMark
An option is to use a file compression program such as PKZip. You might find a trial version online. Never mind. I think you should follow JDM's detailed instructions above.
