You can just go into the viewport (type "ms"), zoom and pan as needed to get the modelspace view you want. I don't see how paperspace limits would affect this. More likely you have a stray object in MS that is affecting your "zoom extents".

Does anyone know what exactly this means..
Cannot set paper space limits when paper margins
or background are displayed.
I am trying to set my limits in paper space to 0,0 and 36,24. I am hoping that this might fix my vewport problem. When I create a new viewport...It isn't putting my object from model space into the viewport. Instead they are outside of it. Kind of hard to explain. Thanks

This is the dilema....Here you can see the problem. My viewport (in brown) is on the sheet like it should be. Yet my objects show up outside of the viewport. You can see the UCS icon in blue where for some reason is the lower left corner of where the object are at. Mhy profile was created using surfaces.

Hi,
I could be wrong, but I had something similar once. It turned out that I had 2 viewports....the one I created and another I was not aware of that was of a far bigger size....the layout and new viewport were so small that they were sitting on top of this much larger one....because of it's size I couldn't see it. This meant when I opened model space, I opened the larger one and it looked like I was viewing the modelspace contents outside the viewport I created.

options > display tab > switch off "display margins" and "display paper background" on the lower left side. thats the easiest way![]()
