    Default align an object to the ucs

    Registered forum members do not see this ad.

    I was working on two compley cylinders (an auto locking caribener sheath and a gate) one inside the other when i noticed that they are not aligned, is there any way of aligning the outer cylinder to the insides ucs?

    To correct an angular misalignment: Draw a line from the 'centre' of one end of a cylinder to the 'centre' of the other end. Repeat for the other cylinder. Use the 'list' command to find the angles of the lines. Rotate one cylinder and it's line so that both lines have the same angle. Go to another UCS view e.g. 'right', 'left' or 'front'. Repeat the re-alignment.

    You will probably find the procedure results in a positional misalignment.

    To correct a positional misalignment: Move one cylinder from the 'centre' of its end to the 'centre' of the end of the other cylinder.
