spittle
Does anyone know how colour information is generated during point cloud surveys? Is this with vertex colour information or through another photo based method etc? I've seen a few examples on line where you can see a colour point cloud and from a distance the scene looks quite realistic.
JD Mather
I'm not sure, but I think the scanner picks up the color information and adds it to the point. Have you come across an actual dwg file with color point cloud?
spittle
Just images and youtube videos. I'm trying to understand whether the laser picks up the information, or if they're using a photogrammetry technique or similar to acheive this effect. And I'm referring to laser surveys use in construction and rather than desktop scanners though they may be capable of similar.
