Cross-hatching within Inventor 2010 drawings question

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of a way of applying cross-hatching patterns within an Inventor 2010 drawing?

I need to do this to illustrate depth of machining from a datum face. Obviously sections are cross-hached automatically but I can't see a way of applying hatching to boundaries within a drawing view? I am aware that a drawing view is just a projection from the model.

I have used this hatching technique many times in AutoCAD format and I suppose I could do it there, but that seems to be a retrograde step and would of course lose connectivity with model changes.

Thanks.

Dave

Click on the view boundary.

Hit s on the keyboard.

Project Geometry the part boundary to hatch, then right mouse button Done.

Add additional sketch lines to define boundary if needed.

You can now add the hatch while in sketch mode from the Hatch tool.

Click return to exit sketch.

If you can't figure it out attach your file here.

While in an .IDW, I think you can adjust the hatchings there by clicking on the hatched portions of the view. You can also change the scale size of the hatchings, too.
