DesignJet from WIn 7 64 bit, seeking suggestions

Hi,

Like others, I have an older HP plotter with no compatable drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. I realize one solution is to purchase the WinLine driver but I feel these are overpriced.

At the moment my setup is like this:

a) Autocad LT 2010 running on Windows 7, 64 bit.

b) DesignJet 650 connected via parallel cable to a Windows XP server.

When I need to plot I open a remote desktop connection from a to b and launch the print job. This is clumsy, but it works.

It seems to me that all I need to streamline the process is to find a way for my print server to accept a PDF and then spool it off to the plotter. Or a way to force the print job to use the driver on the print server, not on the CAD station. Or perhaps I can set up a folder on the print server, and all PDF files dumped in there print, and then are deleted.

Suggestions?

Thanks!
