its normal, you're copying and pasting into the computers database rather than just CADs, someone else might be able to explain it better though![]()

Whenever I use the _copyclip command ( the one bound to Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V) the computer gets stuck for one or two seconds as if it would be saving things in the background. I am running acad 2000 lt on a 2.8ghz with 256 ram.

If you're just trying to copy within the same drawing, you should use the AutoCAD 'copy' command.
Ctrl+C is a windows command, so data is written out from AutoCAD and into the clipboard. It's AutoCAD command name is 'copyclip', not 'copy' (I think)
if you want to use the keyboard for speed, type 'co' for the 'copy' shortcut
