    RSS Feed How to disable the ViewCube in AutoCAD

    If you are working mainly in 2D and the ViewCube is getting in your way, you can turn it off by entering NAVVCUBE at the command line and setting it to OFF. This is a per-viewport, per-drawing setting so if you want to disable this feature for future drawings, be sure to change it in your template drawing(s).

    I'd like to know what idiot at AutoDesk just assumed we all wanted the ViewCube to always be on in the first place? What? They didn't have anything better to do? Fix the freakin' code guys! People are still having cut & paste and copyclip errors (since when....2000i?) and the 2011 version is out! What are you thinking AutoDesk? Jeez.

    I was thinking the same thing. Seemed like such a pointless option. Fix all the old errors!
