jrbourne
we have always upgraded every 3 years, our last upgrade was in 2007 when we moved to AutoCAD2008. Now here we are looking to upgrade to AutoCAD 2011. for 5 licenses (2 civil3D and 3 architecture) we paid a little over $8,000. now to do the same upgrade it would cost about double that UNLESS we get on a subscription which costs about $4,000 a year. This is all according to our sales rep. So it would be 8k(upgrade) plus the 4k(subscription) = $12,000 then an aditional 4k every year to stay on the subscription. so not including this upgrade cost it would be 12,000 every 3 years instead of 8,000 that we had paid in the past. can people confirm this? I feel like im getting taken for a ride here. our cost just went up 4 GRAND. how can autodesk get away with this.
rkent
They can set their pricing however they want, just like any other company. We can pay the price or choose not to. They aren't getting away with anything, it is the capitalist way.
ReMark
What are you being quoted on for "Subscription" prices? Currently for plain AutoCAD we're paying $475 per year.
