No. Not on my machine. When I change from a A1 to a A3 the size most definatly change.

I know that it sounds like a stupid question, but my requirement is to change the real size of the layout after defining a layout is possible or not? More I know that we can change the paper size for the output throught the pagestup manager, but still if you originally define a layout to A1 size its paper size set to A1 and even if you change the paper size after that through page setup manager it will stay as A1, i.e. if you turn on the the paper bakground diplay in options you can read the co-ordinates at the lower left as 0,0 and upper right as 841,594. it will not change.
That's what I want to change.

Could be something to do with Civil 3D.
Do you have the FORMAT > DRAWING LIMITS option in Civil 3D? If so then that should change it.

I see 2:1 in both scale boxes.
laijumalias, does the same thing happen if you choose a different printer?

I think I see the problem now.
What we seem to be looking at in the jpgs is a drawing border (template) at A1 size.
What you are changing with the pagesetup or format drawing limits commands is the Autocad background size;
changing this will not change the size of the border template, you need a different border for each paper size.
(You can use the SCALE command to magnify the one you already have, 0.7071 is the scale to reduce from one A- size to the next one down).
Or if you want some metric drawing templates that are already done for you then follow this link-

nukecad, notice the black rectangle with gray dashed line offset to the inside and the white border on two sides. That is AutoCAD's representation of the paper. It changes in Tiger's but not in laijumalias'.

But the paper behind the border is the same size. I am assuming that Laijumalias want what you see in my images, the background in Layout is the actual paper size. I can't for the life of me figure out what else affects the paper size.![]()
