light going through surface

hello;

I have a spotlight that is pointing at a wall and illuminating objects behing the wall; the spotlight has inverse linear attenuation;

the material on the surface has 0 transparency;

the wall's normal is facing the light ( I made the wall in Rhino ); it is a polyface mesh;

any thoughts
