Hey everyone

Basically I am trying to plot a paperspace layout tab... I have 4 viewports... I have selected monochrome... And when I plot it on my HP plotter everything in the viewport plots in color but my titaleblock information is black and white...

I am running AutoCAD Mechanical 2011

Let me know

Thanks Again

Are your border and title block drawn in color?

On your layout manager, have you checked the "Plot with plot styles" box, and the "Display Plotsyle" box?

What does your layout view and plot preview look like with those boxes checked?

The preview window shows color...

Their is color on my titleblock but it plots b&w like its supposed to...

Take a look at the colors of your layers. If they are a true color (rgb or for example 255,255,255 etc.) they will not be affected by ctb files. Change them to a regular color (1 - 255) and you should be good to go.

the drawing used to plot perfectly and then all of the sudden nothing was changed in regards to monochrome and it out of no where started to plot in color...

what shade plot setting are you using for your viewports? I had this problem after I got 2011 when I would select "Hidden", I found i needed to use "Legacy Hidden" to have my layouts look the way they did in 2010 and prior. If this doesn't help, can you post the dwg so we can have a look?

  • 2 years later...

I've been using AutoCAD since 2008 and have never had an issue. My drawing all of a sudden up and starting making color pdf's. Which, when printed in Monochrome, come out a very light shade of gray (barely visable). I've opened other drawings and they work just fine. I know that i could just copy info into a drawing that works, but that won't answer my question as to "why". I haven't changed anything and it's been working just fine...please help! Oh, and i'm using 2013 and have been for about 3 months
