Default MTEXT ok.... TEXT turns into ????? Why?

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I am copying Thai text and pasting it into MTEXT and it works great. I paste it into a TEXT field and it comes out all ??????

What is the reason for this? Like one command sees the font and the other does not.

Maybe the field has a character limit and it has been exceeded?

    Not sure I understand.

If I take a 4-5 letter word i English and translate it... comes up, say the same amount of Thai characters... I wouldnt think that would be a character limit.

make sure you are using the same text style in both MTEXT & DTEXT objects, with no font override in the MTEXT.

    This is worth trying,
I tried it with Persian text and initially had same issue ( text turning into ????), but I had a look in the Mtext Properties box and in content noticed the font is Arial, so went to TextStyle and changed my font to Arial and everything is OK now
