Under which menu entry did you place the custom toolbar ?
If you want it to stay on screen all the time then it should under the Autocad menu... or it's own menu.

Can anyone tell me why my custom toolbar cannot be turned permanently?
I "X" the toolbar, and it goes away but it comes back the next time I open AutoCAD (Architectural Desktop 3.3)
The same thing happens when I use the customization dialogue box to remove the toolbar.
Also, I wanted to know why a standard toolbar does not remain when I exit AutoCAD?
Thanks,
Andrew

Well, thank you first of all,
I was trying to keep my 3D toolbar off the screen typically, but changing it's menu group as you suggested corrected that problem.
I wanted to know why AutoCAD wouldn't let that toolbar and the Perspectives (AECARCHX menu group) and Render toolbars (ACAD menu group) remain on screen when I reopened AutoCAD. (Like if I am going to work on a 3d drawing consecutively for a few days.)
Thank you,
Andrew
