How to specify a tangent line at an angle

unlikely to be best way but as no replies:

 

draw line at the angle you want

move from midpoint to centre of circle

trim / extend line so ends snap to cirle (you now have circle cut exactly in half)

copy line and rotate 90 degrees (now cirle cut in 4)

move original line from midpint to endpoint of second line

done.

 

probably you knew this..... sorry!

Start the Line command. When AutoCAD asks for the first point, enter TAN and click the circle somewhere about the start of the line. When prompted for the second point, enter something like @100
