    Default Elevations with MEP

I have received a topographic site survey drawing (2D DWG), showing the contour lines and their associated elevations. I would like to show a cross section of this profile however under line properties it will not let me set and elevation for the individual lines it returns to zero. Any ideas? Or is there a better way to do this?

I'm not understanding completely. Are you trying to take the 2D contours of the site plan and create a 3D elevation from them?

Yes I thought if i added the line levels to the line elevation properties, I would be able to rotate the drawing and view from the side. Given that the drawing has only side to side contour lines I was hoping this would provide a ground level profile.
