Quick favour needed - hidden objects causing crash

I promise I'll contribute some time back to the forum when I'm a bit less busy, but could anyone do me a small favour.

There are 22 hatch objects in this drawing apparently, I can't select them with the cursor, just with ctrl A. They are on layer 0 which is unlocked, but whenever I try and delete them, or deselect them it causes my programme to crash.

Please save your work before you try this, I'd hate to be responsible for you losing your work, but if anyone can get rid of these rogue objects I'd be forever indebted to you...

Hurrah, don't worry, I've managed top get rid of them bu cutting, rather than deleting !!!?!

Don't know what they were exactly, or why this worked, but that is not important.
