Hello

I'm to plot using .CTB and I'm having a difficult time with the line weights.

What color would I use to depict:

In plan:

-Walls-

-Text (room names)-

-Dimensions-

-Doors- w/ swing and sliding doors (is there a difference? would the door swing be a different weight?)

-Columns-

-Roof- (dashed, overhead)

-Beams- (dashed, overhead)

-Plumbing fixtures-

In Elevation/Section:

What colors would I use to depict:

Closer

Intermediate

Farther

Thank you so much!

If it makes any difference, I'm using autocad 2008.

and I'll be plotting in monochrome.

Hey

Well it depends how your CTB is setup.

Do you have a sample CTB to use? If so you can open it from explorer and have a look at what color maps to what lineweight.

Well were is the CTB file located on your hard drive/network? Just double click on it. IT should open in the plot style table editor. You can then go look at the setting for each color.

Alternatively, while your in a drawing, go to the print window, expand the advanced sidebar out so you can see the plotstyle selection drop down. Select a plotstyle from the drop down, the press the edit plotstyle button right next to it. This will bring up the same window.

Well you can change them you know. I imagine that the reason they are those values is because it is in imperial units. Either find a metric CTB, or change them yourself.

As for the answer to each of the items and what color they should be. If you don't know go look at some sample drawings.
