New Hardware produces poor SolidWorks performance

Hi:

So we go out and buy some new i7 processor PC's to run SolidWorks with. Triple channel motherboard, processor and 6G or RAM. Windows XP-64 O/S.

The two year old Quad-Core system outperforms it!

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks,

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the stallar FirePro V8800 2G card. I think the old V7350's may be outperforming that as well. Many, many lockups, and 20+ minutes to open large assemblies. The system is about 25% slower than the Quad Core 3.06 with 4G RAM, also running Win XP-64.

are you running 2011 or something else? what SP?

I would make sure you have the most current driver for that graphics card.

You may need to set your graphics to OpenGL to see if your graphic card settings are causing the issues. I cant imagine the setup you have is the problem. More likely just settings.
