sanderson
Hi: So we go out and buy some new i7 processor PC's to run SolidWorks with. Triple channel motherboard, processor and 6G or RAM. Windows XP-64 O/S. The two year old Quad-Core system outperforms it! Any thoughts would be great. Thanks,
shift1313
What problems are you having? what video card are you running in the new PCs?
sanderson
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the stallar FirePro V8800 2G card. I think the old V7350's may be outperforming that as well. Many, many lockups, and 20+ minutes to open large assemblies. The system is about 25% slower than the Quad Core 3.06 with 4G RAM, also running Win XP-64. shift1313
are you running 2011 or something else? what SP? I would make sure you have the most current driver for that graphics card. http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html You may need to set your graphics to OpenGL to see if your graphic card settings are causing the issues. I cant imagine the setup you have is the problem. More likely just settings.
