Problem With LOFT

vertical horizons

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Question - why are you using the loft command, instead of revolve? The dip at the top is caused by the fact that you cannot get an arc tangent to both sections of the geometry that you have used.

I would be more concerned about the flat dip at the top. Before I suggest an alternate technique - do you really want this flat and dip?

I wanted it to be flat, but I didn't want to have the dip in it.

You are right.

I should have used REVOLVE instead of LOFT.

Hi,

Unfortunately, JD's image does not show that the arcs are tangent to each other and that the larger of the two is tangent to the top 1/2in Dia circle. Tangency is crucial to a smooth transition.
