Incadnito
Hi there I'm having trouble getting the materials library installed... Or rather, getting Autocad to locate it. The Library seems to be installed probaly - also tried reinstalling but to no avail When I open the Materials browser I get the following message: "The Autodesk Materials Library is not installed" Besides that "little" detail, AutoCAD performs quite well File paths: C:\Programmes\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2011 C:\Programmes\Shared files\Autodesk Shared\Materials2011 (1 Gb+ folder) Installed 3D Max Design a few days ago, has no trouble locating it !?! Computer Specs: Windows XP Service Pack 3 Autocad 2011 Student (w. update) Intel Celeron 3.33 Ghz 1 Gb Ram - *Sigh*...Yes, I know! ATI Radeon HD 3600 Can I somehow point AutoCAD to its location. Any suggestions? Kind Regards Niels First post, tried search Edited November 24, 2010 by Incadnito
Cad64
Go to Options > Files tab and check the paths under "Texture Maps Search Path". Make sure those paths are pointing to the correct folders. Also, 1GB RAM? That's not going to get you very far. You need a minimum of 2GB to run the latest versions of Autocad and Studio Max. RAM is very, very cheap. You should add another 1 or 2GB's.
Incadnito
Hi, thnx for your fast reply Had a feeling it was somewhere in that vicinity - and it actually points to the correct folder by default. My file structure looks a bit different from yours however (2011) - and still not working. Hmmm...will try add new paths manually...and keep you posted Thanks again, much appreciated Niels
Incadnito
Bumb... Promised to keep u posted. however... Never managed to solve the problem in AutoCAD 2011 - the workaround being installing Autocad 2010 w. the old materials library - and rendering from there. Tried directing AutoCAD 2011 to the location of the 2010 library... But not even close - and defenitely no cigars
