This might be an obvious one, but have you checked your "project" folder? You know, the folder where all of your other parts are saved? Unless, the rest of the parts are saved in a separate folder than your project folder.

Having completed a Clamp, through several ipt's and assembled them in the assembly environment, i have since added another part within that assembly.
I drew the part using the create area within that assembly.
When i came to finding the newly created part to save it seperately, i cannot find it!
Where does Inventor store this created file??
Any help out there please?
Greatly appreciated

Yes ..but does AI create a new ipt, in the defined projects folder?....
Got it...when u create a new ipt. within an assembly.. inventer puts it into the general folder of the project, and not in the folder you create within a project.
My mistake...
Sorry for being short sighted...im six months in and i still dont know my way round ...tut!!

Oh ok. Good to know. No, don't apologize! I'm still relatively new to Inventor, learning 100 new things about it every time I use it.
