ReMark
Try using the BACKGROUND command. Its use is covered in your AutoCAD Help file.
fahim108
Type in V (for View Manager) Hit NEW button Type in some View Name Under the Background Drop-Down Menu, chose the setting you wish to apply. Hit Ok > Set Current > Apply/Ok... P.S. The BACKGROUND command doesn't work on versions prior to 2009.
ReMark
Good point. Don't you then also have to put a check in the box next to Override default background in order to be taken to the Background dialog box?
fahim108
You may be having a different interface in 2011, but here in 2008 it automatically overrides the default background once you assign it via the View Manager. The only thing that "overrides" this background is the Environment Settings option (in the Visual Styles Manager Flag) which toggles the visibility of your custom Backgrounds in the viewports (VSBACKGROUNDS) Correct me if I am wrong...
