Overlapping Lines - Pop up only happens for one Line

I set up a new template for the office and there is one odd thing in the new template. In our old template, if 2 lines were on top of each other and you moved your cursor over the lines, each line would be "highlighted" and the properties would be shown for the line (just like if you hover over any other object in the drawing).

In the new template, the shorter of the 2 lines, never becomes "highlighted" and the properties never show up, so I can't just select the line and delete it.

Is this a setting I can turn on/off? I know there are many ways to delete overlapping lines, but I would really like to be able to select the line. Any advice?

If you have two (or more) overlapping lines and you want to get at the lower one, then use a crossing selection window to select all the lines that are over one another, then hold down the shift key and left click on the lines and the upper one will be deselected. Then you can bring it to the top by using the DRAWORDER command.

Or if the line you want is shorter and you select all the lines as before you can move a line out by clicking its middle grip and dragging it away.

If all else fails read the help files.

To change between ovelapping objects move the cursor over the objects, hold down the shift key and press the space bar until you have the object you want.

Thanks - that helped a lot

I looked in help menu a few times, but never found anything other than turning off layers - which didn't help for lines onthe same layer
