jackdee03
Hi, I have an auto cad file which has around 100 different layers, I want to extract one layer to a dxf file. I have frozen all layers accept the layer I require and have then tried to use the dxf out command, however the created dxf file still contains all of the other layers. Is dxf out the correct command or am I doing something wrong?
eldon
It is a pity that you do not say what version of AutoCAD you are using, then you could get a definitive response. However, when saving to a DXF file, there has always been an option to select the objects to save. In my version, a dialogue box opens up, and in the top right hand corner, there is a Tools option. When I click on the down arrow, then I can go to Options, then DXF options and choose 'select objects'.
jackdee03
Good point about the version, currently trying autocad 2011. I will try what you've said to see if I can see the options. Thanks
