HI

I have come across this warming labels but not sure the meaning behind it. When I

start to plot I get this warming label UNRECONCILED NEW LAYERS EXIST IN THE THE DRAWING. I hit "no" and continue to move on, then will pop up when I start to do a window around my drawing. The layer in question is in my base drawing and that is xref into other draws. So how can I fix this litte problem??

THANKS TO ALL THAT HELP ME AND THE ONE'S THAT READ THIS POST

Don't have AutoCad in front of me at the moment although it is something like the following:

Go into Layer Properties Manager ->, in the left pane there will be 'Unreconciled layers' or something similar. Click that, then right click on the layers in there and select 'Reconcile'.

This was added to warn people that layers have been added to a drawing they are xrefing in. The layers may be something they don't want to plot so it lets them know which layers they are so they can easily select them all to freeze or reconcile, etc.

If it bothers you and Land Desktop is at all similar to the UI on LT open your layer manager and click on the settings spanner on the top right and uncheck the New Layer Notification on the pop up.

I was unsure about this notification the other day, but if you were to click yes you can view the files that have been brought into your drawing and also check whether you want them to print or not, after clicking yes and your layer manager opens it will list these files and if you select all the layers and right click on them and go to 'reconcile', this message will not appear as you have addressed the notification. :)

To be honest I never use the new layer notification, I got too many notifications which didn't make sense and it was a pain when all I wanted to do was quickly go into a drawing and print it.

StykFacE what does LAYEREVAL do? Mine was set to 1 when I have turned the layer notification off in the layer manager and it seems to be a drawing dependent command?

Yeah, there's the dialog version and the command line version to most (if not all) commands. I am a keyboard junkie so I usually give the command line version of a command, since it's a more direct route to the user seeking a solution. ;)

I am using the keyboard more myself these days since my screen got over populated by icons. I have started writing useful commands & Aliases down and taping them to my screen, I'm even phasing out the layer manager.
