Recommended Posts

Autocad 2011

If I type SA this is what I get:

Command: SA

Current file format: AutoCAD 2007(LT 2007) Drawing

Enter file format

[R14(LT98&LT97)/2000(LT2000)/2004(LT2004)/2007(LT2007)/2010(LT2010)/Standards/DXF/Template] :

If I type SAVEAS I get the dialog.

What is the SA command?

I actually want SA to call up the SAVEAS dialog.

Help Please!!

Go to the tools menu, down to "customize" and select "edit program parameters (acad.pgp). This should start Notepad and open the acad.pgp file. Scroll down and find the SA shortcut in the list, and change it to "saveas". Hit save, and close notepad. Then close autocad and restart it.

I should add that you should do this only if the PGP file is used by you alone. If you're in an office and several people are pathed to the same file, you could become very unpopular if you change it.

Try using the internal PGP editor to avoid editing the wrong PGP, and to avoid having to re-init

Express > Tools > Command Alias Editor or ALIASEDIT from the command line.

Hi,

It 'better to add new alias below this message in pgp file rather than changing the standards:

; -- User Defined Command Aliases --

; Make any changes or additions to the default AutoCAD command aliases in

; this section to ensure successful migration of these settings when you

; upgrade to the next version of AutoCAD. If a command alias appears more

; than once in this file, items in the User Defined Command Alias take

; precedence over duplicates that appear earlier in the file.

; **********----------********** ; No xlate ; DO NOT REMOVE

SA, *SAVEAS
