Hi-
I am running AutoCAD 2005 and am having problems creating an OLE object with Illustrator 9.0 & 12
When the OLE dialog box opens and I choose "create new" AutoCAD will launch Photoshop , Word , Adobe Elements and so forth.
But when I choose Illustrator , it will launch and get to the point where the workspace should appear , than all of sudden CAD gives me the following error message :
"Failure to create object. Make sure object is entered in the system registry."
Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it ?![]()
Thanks for your help !

Thanks , I will try re-installing Illustrator.
If that does not work , is there a way to "insert" the Illustrator drawing without using OLE ?
I tried exporting it as DWG file , but than I can't seem to scale it....

Can't Illustrator export as DWG or DXF? Then just use insert to bring it into an existing drawing. There is no reason that you won't be able to scale it afterwards.
Good luck.

That means the application you are running cannot refernce the needed data about the object it is being passed because it's activex proerties are uknown until it is registered with the system registry, which should then provide the object according to a standard interface(COM)- (how well the other end works (the adobe-il activeX object) is up to the adobe softdesigns to actually program and build that for you. unfortunately, many times that has lacked at adobe, it is a very isolated program, with real poor exporting. Remember the OLE concept, was very foreign to adobe. You may need to contect there support for very current ActiveX support.
