Weird behaviour between AutoCADs?

Hello,

I have edited a drawing of a floor layout by adding in chairs/tables/counters/fridges etc. , to save time , my company has previously created blocks of the furniture for the top view so we can just insert them where ever needed.

The odd problem is, on my PC, the scale of the furniture is correct. For example, a table would be 1000X700(mm), and when I insert block, it appears as 1000 by 700. However, when I copied the incomplete layout drawing over to another PC, also running AutoCAD 2010, the same table is inserted at a -VERY- large scale.

What is causing this? The blocks used are the exact same.


Since I'm already posting this, does anyone have an easier guide to customizing the ribbon and keyboard shortcuts? I tried searching through Michael's corner but it seemed a little confusing for me.

And is there a tool to number your items? We have to number our equipment then include a table indicating the name, dimensions etc. , I googled the Excel file part but I had to manually add the numbers and lines, does AutoCAD provide something for this?

Check into INSUNITS, INSUNITSDEFSOURCE and INSUNITSDEFTARGET. It's still a bit confusing to me, but that's what's causing the issue.

try changing your workspace to autocad classic...will look and work much like 2007, and will do away with some of the performance problems the ribbon causes.

Contextual tabs are probably the most confusing of all the Ribbon customizations. Messing around in the CUI might seem a bit daunting at first, but once you grasp what each section does, it's really pretty simple.

If you have a genuine interest in learning how to customize the Ribbon/Cui, you won't find any better source than the online classes at Autodesk University (free enrollment)
