envisioncad
johnpieter, sorry you can not use lsp in MicroStation. I would look at recording a Macro and using MicroStation Basic or MicroStation VBA depending on what version you are using. We have a lot of tips for MicroStation VBA to help get you started. http://envisioncad.com/tag/vba/ HTH, Bob Mecham
BlackBox
Bob, I'm an AutoCAD/Civil 3D guy who's going to be cross-training on Microstation+GEOPAK. I do the majority of all development for my AutoCAD production team, and will also be interested in customizing our Microstation work flows, etc. On the AutoCAD side, I use a lot of LISP, but am being slowly forced into .NET via API feature exposure, etc. (especially with Civil 3D). Would you be so kind as to point me to a good resource for Microstation .NET SDK's, and perhaps make some recommendations to the strengths/weaknesses of each API (MDL, VBA, .NET, etc.)? Cheers! envisioncad
RenderMan, we would recommend to stay with .NET if you already have some exposure to it. You can download the MicroStation SDK from Bentley's website. Most everything you need to do in MicroStation can be done with .NET but there are some workflows that require MDL to complete. Cross that MDL bridge when you have to. There is a good Bentley programming community if you have specific questions. http://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_v8i/f/19569.aspx HTH, Bob Mecham
