Question Help with Cantilever (or coping) along sides of curvy solid...

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I have spent at least 8 hours trying to get a simple rounded bullnose cantilever running down the sides of a curved 3D solid block. I have tried SWEEP, LOFT, FILLET, etc. and following various tutorials did not work when applied to this shape...

Would anyone be wiling to look at it and see what I am doing wrong? I have attached the basic shape of the bullnose I desire to the 4 corners of the block.

I have used both AutoCAD 2007 on my PC and 2011 on my MAC.

    The file is here: http://www.mattandmel.com/acad/Cantilever-3D.dwg

    Thanks,

    Matt

Sweep will work fine, however, your sweep path is invalid. Explode the profile (green) remove the upper and lower arcs, then join your sweep path with "pedit"

This should allow you to sweep your bull-nose, however, you may have to adjust your sweeping profile to get it to line up correctly.

    Kencaz,

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this. What you suggested worked perfectly! Amazing how many hours can be wasted trying stuff that is "close" but not quite right.
