Default How to print plot files?

Registered forum members do not see this ad.

I feel silly asking this, but I've never had to do this before and a search didn't come up with anything really relevant.

A client gave me some .plt files created from Microstation, I need to print these up on my plotter at work. I'm using Autocad 2006.

Basically, how do I start the print jobs?

Is there a good free downloadable that I can use?

    Also...
Should I have specified that the plot file be created for my office plotter? or does that even matter?

    Thanks.

I always copy them to my LPT1 port and the method of doing that changes with each version of windows and with each network configuration. For a simple system you need a DOS window (or command prompt as I think MS now call them) and then type something like "copy fred.plt > LPT1". Be ready to hit the printer OFF switch though as if it's the wrong printer language you can get boxes of rubbish.

    Unless somebody knows better?

Govert's Tool has the GoPlot utlity that does exactly that. I use DOS copy command for automated stuff, but GoPlot is better for plot file exchanges.

There is also a utility PRFILE32.EXE that I have but I don't have a good link to it. I am sure you could Google it. -David

This is a quick and easy download, and just as quick and easy to use the program... drag and drop. Gotta love it.

    Thanks for this one.
