Wierdness! If I now press my F1 key for my help menu it just minimises AutoCAD and then opens a new windows explorer page!I can get to my help files by typing help at the command line or clicking just on the help button.Has anyone else ever had this problem and how do you rectify it?

It seems to me that this problem must be caused by an OS setting rather than an AutoCAD setting. What sort of keyboard are you using? Some of the new Microsoft and Logitech keyboards allow for a redefinition of the function keys. Seems to me that your F1 key must have become associated with IE so that when pressed, AutoCAD minimises and IE fires up.

My "Escape" button decided to change it's name too. It no longer escapes in ACAD, instead it toggles between different programs that are on, like M$ Outlook, or IE. It isn't just acting up in ACAD though, because it does this in all programs. Kinda sucks not have an escape button, now I have to right-click and choose "deselect-all".

Look in your "ACAD.MNU" file. Under the "Pop 11" area see if it has been redifined.
My ACAD 2000i acad.mnu looks like this:

    ***POP11
    **HELP
    ID_MnHelp [&Help]
    ID_Help [AutoCAD &Help\tF1]'_help

    Thanks,
My help macro in my acad.mns looks like this:
    ID_MnHelp [&Help]
    ID_Help [AutoCAD &Help F1]'_help
I've even modified my macro to look like yours but,no luck. It's possible it might be a windows problem, how I rectify it I dont know. The help section for function keys in win 2K is hopeless.

You were both pointing in the right direction,it was a windows problem.Seems that when I changed the shortcut path in my windows explorer shortcut,I may have changed my shorcut key by accident to F1 rather than the default none
