Well, I can't understand most of what's written on that page, or anything being said in that video, but even I can figure out that he's using Advance Steel to create those stairs.

There are lisp routines that will draw stairs in 2D. From there it would be just a short hop to generating a set of stairs in 3D or at least I think so.

You don't need a plug in. The plug in just automates the process.

You can design stairs in Autocad without any other 3rd party software.

How much experience do you have with Autocad?

How much experience do you have working in 3D?

How much experience do you have designing stairs?

StairSec.lsp available at the CADalyst magazine website in the CAD Tips section.

Another option is this lisp routine found over at The Swamp.

thanks for posting that remark, i'll have to check these out and see if they work with the way we do our stairs here.

I'm not sure everyone is going to run right out and buy CadWorx just to have the ability to draw stairs unless a lot of their work involves stair design.
