Steel Shapes from the Content Library - Is there BS EN Standards?

I am trying to find blocks in the Content Library for BS standards, such as Parallel Flanged Channel etc.. for some reason AutoCAD Mechanical does not seem to have these blocks. Can anyone tell me if there is a BS content library for download, or do I need to enable this somehow?

I have no problem drawing the blocks and adding them to the library (I think!) but I want to find out if these standards are already within the package.

I can't comment about mechanical but with electrical you have to specify what libraries you want installed early on in the load process. As our computers are configured in the States we only got the US & jic (Japan?) libs(!!) but I have obtained the iec one and added that to our network. The IEC lib is close enough to BS EN for our purposes so I haven't looked for any dedicated BS ones. What folders do you have under the \Libs one? Alternativly, can you check the instal disk?

Not sure about mech.2008, I have moved on since then. Content-steel shapes has : BS 4848 and BS EN 10056 steel

mmm. Not sure as the IT guy installed the software so maybe he didn't load the libraries, could be an explanation. I only seem to have ISO, ANSI and DIN installed. Same goes for Autodesk Inventor, the Frame Generator does not have BS installed! :Grr:

I would fire the "IT guy" for not knowing how to install the software correctly!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Quagga but they're not usually too bad, they don't install a lot of Autodesk Software, we are all learning together.

It seems that the BS library is there but I am not sure how to 'tell' Autocad to look into the directory to load them! Any idea?

I still haven't found out if Autocad Mechanical has a BS Steel Shapes library! Anyone??

There are many Content Library Standards during Installation. Probably you may have a look

AutoCAD 2012 Mechanical does have BS standards I believe Mechanical 2008 did as well. They should be found in the Steel Shapes dialog in the Standard Parts toolbar blended in with the rest of the standards that were picked during installation. If you do not have them installed, run the "Uninstall or change a program" wizard and modify the installation. Check the customize installation and there is a page to select which standards you would like installed. You may be prompted for the install disk.

For anybody looking for shapes that does not have Mechanical, you can find them here. I am in the process of exporting the entire shapes library and placing the content online.
