Kitchen/cabinet door hinges?

Paradise

I'm looking for a kitchen door hinge tutorial or something like that.

My problem is that i don't know how to make that pivot (red line).

You know with kitchen (cabinet) door hinges that it also moves the door

in the way the red arrows show.

I thing modeling a hinge like that is to complex for me. But for the beginning it

would be great to just have the movement on my door.

The hinge shouldnt be too bad to draw. You can always download models from places like http://www.mcmaster.com for a lot of things.

I did a tutorial on the hinge mate and how to use it to limit the movement. Might help in this instance.

@JD, sure i checked the tuts, but nothing that helps me on this kind off movement.

@shift, nice video (site) but its also the normal pivot/piano hinge thing.

I talk about this ones:

http://www.mcfeelys.com/images/items/MP-CS22--lrg.jpg or http://www.cabinet-hinges.com/catalog-product.php?p_ref=18295

I just realized that cabinet hinge is a widely used term in english.

Yeah there are dozens of different styles. There are several different styles that have CAD files on http://www.mcmaster.com. for instances http://www.mcmaster.com/#cadinlnord/1612a55/=d5xor4

The hinge mate i was talking about in that video will let you mate the cad model so it only opens to its stop which is why i linked it for you. it doesnt have to be used in the simple example like I did in the video.

Drawing a conceiling hinge made from sheet metal is a bit more difficult. Typically someone designing cabinets would obtain a model of the hinge they are using. Most manufacturers have this data on their websites so thats always the first place I check. You can also look through the library in solidworks as well as 3dContentCentral. users and manufacturers upload their models to 3d content central all the time.
