    Welcome Hector!
Just click the text to modify and press CTRL+1 to bring the Properties window on the screen. Near the Content label there is the ... content of the text entity. Click inside and delete/insert as you need.
If your text is an mtext entity (multi line text) so click in the content on the Properties window. At the right will appear a button with 3 points. Click it and the Multiline Text Editor will pop up. Operate your changes and click OK.
OK? Did I answer you? Or maybe “cut the text” means that do you wish to place the text in the clipboard for pasting in other applications (a text editor perhaps)?
It's nice to be nice, but sometimes is nicer to be evil!.
Tip: Please do not PM or email me with CAD questions - use the forums, you'll get an answer sooner.

    Here's how I do it in 2000i...

To cut text I pick the text with the left mouse botton and then select ctrl x. That will cut your text and allow you to paste it somewhere else.

To modify you can double click on the text, and if it's multi-line the multi-line text editor pops up which allows you to modify it to your hearts content. if it's a single line of text created by dtext, then you can still double click on it except you will only get the edit text box which only allows you to change the wording.

There is also an edit text button which looks like an A with a pencil next to it. This essentially brings up the multi-line text editor.

AutoCAD also has a bonus menu which I brought over from ver14. This allows you to edit layers and text in a flash. I can't remember if it is originally hidden in 2000 somewhere though. You may have to hunt a bit. Good luck!
