Layers not plotting

Hi guys,

We've got a file that's only plotting some layers and not others. All layers are on, thawed, and set to plot, so I don't have a clue why they aren't showing up. There's a plan that's x-reffed into model space and then showing through a viewport in paper space, and a title block x-reffed into paper space. Some layers in the plan and all layers in the title block are not plotting. Any thoughts?

We're using AutoCAD Architecture 2008.

You should check the Layer Manager in Paper space, Model Space, and your Viewport.

Did you check in all three places?

If your confused let me know. i'll try to clear it up

Layers or objects not plotting:

1) Make sure your xref drawing(s) is not on DEFPOINTS layer.

2) Make sure you haven't drawn on the DEFPOINTS layer.

3) Make sure the layers are set to plot, in the layer manager find the layer name

and move to the right until you find the plot icon, it might be set to noplot.

4) What color is the layer set to? The color may be set close to a white color.

5) What lineweight is the layer set to? It may be set to a width that doesn't show

when plotted.

6) What is the linetype for the layer set to? Dots and some others are hard to see.

7) Is the layer set to a transparency setting that keeps it from showing? You would

have plot with transparency set to on in the plot dialog.

8 What plot style is the layer using? Is that plot style set to a color, lineweight,

or greyscale that prevents it from showing on a plot? You will have to go into the

plotstyle currently being used by the drawing, either a CTB or STB file.

9) Are you using a Xerox plotter with 2012, there are some known issues with this.

10) In the plotter pc3 file you may need to change Over write to merge in the properties.

11) If you are using layouts and the layers are not plotting in the viewport, make that viewport

current, open the layer manager and go all the way to the right to check the settings per viewport,

look for viewport overrides, following steps 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8 as it pertains to VP settings in the

layermanager.

12) If using xrefs, open the xref file(s) and set INDEXCTL to 0 and save the drawing.

13) If using xrefs, open the xref file(s) and purge, audit, and save the drawing.
