gotchy
I have sketched a simple extruded plate 1/2" X 8" and i extruded it to 1/8" thick. Now I want to bend it in the middle 90 degrees, and I find that my Sheet Metal Tool Bar is mostly greyed out, I was intending to use the sketch bend tool. I am a total beginner to Sheet Metal, but there must be something basic here that is slipping by me. I would appreciate your help. shift1313
After that first sketch, instead of extruding it you need to make it a Base Flange/Tab (the first button on the sheet metal tools). Since you only have one operation I would suggest just deleting your extrude and doing it that way. You can also use the second button and Convert to sheetmetal. Here is a video I did on Convert to Sheetmetal. http://www.mymlcservices.com/index.php?option=com_hwdvideoshare&task=viewvideo&Itemid=306&video_id=322 and here is a basic sheet metal vid. http://www.mymlcservices.com/index.php?option=com_hwdvideoshare&task=viewvideo&Itemid=306&video_id=
