Eagi
So... when working with Autocad text, using the find command to uncover an evasive strip of text is really practical, but sadly enough Magicads annotation-flags are not included under this commands search parameters... So my question is if anyone has an alternative to the Find command to be able to locate magicad text? best regards // Ed

SLW210
Can you use QSelect?
Eagi
worth a try, but where would you suggest to enter the text search parameter, since all the Qselect options are found in drop-down menus it's sort of hard to find for example all the texts containing "S1-110" or something of the sort. Tiger
With QSelect you can pick Contents as the properties and then you get to type in the Value field. You can also chooose a Wildcard match as a operator which might help you... or Filter - a bigger and more complete version of QSelect. SLW210
Can you post a MagiCad text?
klalle
Well yes i have found a way! I have just got an pdf from magicad support that explains how to access the magicad specific objects through vba or C. from there it's easy to loop through all the objects and look for the textobject containing your text! See this post When i have time, i will make such a function if you dont know how to program it yourselves... /Kalle
Tiger
Kalle, while I appreciate your vigour in helping other with MagiCAD-troubles - digging up threads that are several years old, where the OP probably moved on a long time ago, is not really appreciated. If someone searches for MagiCAD on this forum, they'll find the first post where you linked the document.
klalle
Well sorry for that, but there is still no solution out there which lets you search magicad text... your method of using filter or qselect does not apply to magicad text objects even if they appear in the object-type as Magidimlines, and i'm guessing i'm not the only one searching for a solution! SLW210
Yet, whenever I have asked for an example of an object from Magicad, no one has posted anything. Makes it very hard to come up with a solution.
