Exporting Civil 3D 2012 Text to Shape File

Using the 'mapexport' command in Civil 3D 2012, I tried to export text from a drawing to an ESRI shape file, selecting the object type as Text and selecting the layers i wanted to export. When the text is imported into ArcGIS, it comes in as points. Does anyone know how i can make the text import into ArcGIS as actual text instead of points or make the text show up as actual text in ArcGIS?

I guess there's no direct way, because of the nature of textual shapes.

As a matter of fact, in Arcgis the text from Acad is embedded into the points, so you may easy label them.

A workaround consists in exploding the textes in Autocad, and exporting them as polygonal shapes (obviously in Arcgis you'll not be able to query anything by text).

Exploding the text does not seem to work. It still remains as if it is a text box. Can i convert the text or something to where it can be exploded or be just polylines?

When you export the text make sure you tell it to take the text value,(which should be automatic) then in E$RI use the label/annonation tools to label the points.
