Default wblocked files are way bigger than normal

wblock small block from a master dwg, the new files, incredibly, are huge, like 4 megs for a circle and a couple of other entities.
when I recover the dwg, it audits like 20,000 objects, but none are visible or present in the drawing. all purge, and recovered, the file is still way too big. It's as if there is an invisible cad data table for a bunch of non existant entities. any help?

    hmm... frozen layers?
Or maybe a graphical object with attached xdata?
Firstly I would open a new drawing and copy/paste here the graphical objects. If that doesn't help I would select the objects one by one and check for XDATA -there is an Express tool for this job.
It's nice to be nice, but sometimes is nicer to be evil!
Tip: Please do not PM or email me with CAD questions - use the forums, you'll get an answer sooner.
