mdd
I'm trying to add dimensions to my 3d drawing and can get it to work sometimes and sometimes I can't. I attempt to do a dimension from the base of a pole to a ground anchor 32' away. I receive the following message: Oblique, non-uniformly scaled objects were ignored. Specify dimension lin locaiton or {Mtext/Text/Angle} I belive it has something to do with getting the UCS set up correctly, I've re-oriented my UCS several time and get no dimensions. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
rkent
I doubt that error message has to do with the UCS alignment. Are you picking two points using osnaps to pick them? To set up the UCS for dimensions in 3D use the UCS 3point option. The trick is to select the first point to the left of where the dim text will be, next select the direction for the dim line which is the X axis for the UCS, finally select the Y axis in the direction you want the dim extension line to align to. See attached. 3D dimensioning.pdf
ReMark
The base of the pole and the ground anchor are at the same elevation?
