Hi guys,

may be my question can sound to you pretty much easy answer:

 

Can I use and work with SolidCam without havinfg SolidWorks installed?

I'll more than a thank to you for any advice

yes you can BUT you need another cad application. The only thing you get if you open the program as a stand alone is the feature tree. It will run in Acad and Inventor if i remember right.

do you mean that it'll be integrated in AutoCad?

I mean, I need AutoCad to draw the solid and later than I can export it to SoildCam to simulate the manufacturing...? Am i right?

I remember when i first got SolidCAM 08 i still had acad, inventor and SW on my computer. When i opened Acad to do something with a dxf i had a SolidCAM menu at the top. I never tried to machine anything from there but i believe when you open solidcam you can use the geometry in ACAD. So the feature tree is a stand alone floating window but its still running with acad.
