mateen, MicroStation commands are persistent which allows MicroStation to remember the last command used. There really isn't a need to Escape out of a command just pick the next tool you would like to use. It is different from what your hands are trained to do but IMHO it is better then reaching for the Esc key 100 times a day.

If you would like to setup MicroStation to act as a single shot program. Go to the pull down menu Workspace > Preferences
In the category Look and Feel: Single Click > Single Shot
In the category Task Navigation: Presentation > Tool Box

This setup will use the tool once then default to the Element Selection tool when you Reset.

Or you could use the Esc Key as it works in AutoCAD by going to the pull down menu Workspace > Preferences
In the category Input: Check ON Allow ESC key to stop current command.
