3rdElle
GOAL - Upload drawing file to space management application. Client providS me with a furniture plan and then a base plan to xreference it in. I am getting a message box that reads: "Unreconciled New Layers" WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? Client creates a layer state in the furniture plan to show only what the client needs to see once the drawing is in the space management application. DOES BRINGING IN THE BASE PLAN AS AN XREF AFFECT THIS LAYER STATE? HOW DO I KNOW WHAT PATH TYPE TO CHOOSE (FULL, RELATIVE or NO) WHEN I GO TO INSERT THE XTREF? WHAT IS THE DIFFERECEN BETWEEN ATTACH and OVERLAY?

I am getting a message box that reads: "Unreconciled New Layers" 1a. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND WHAT 1b. DO I NEED TO DO? Client creates a layer state in the furniture plan to show only what the client needs to see once the drawing is in the space management application. 2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERECEN BETWEEN ATTACH and OVERLAY? 1a. AutoCAD lets you know that their are new layers so that you can adjust thier settings, if necessary. 1b. View and reconcile the layers from the layer manager. 2. No, but you may need to modify it for the new layers. 3. That depends on what you are going to do with the files. If they are going to be moved or shared RELATIVE or NO should be used. If they are going to remain in place FULL can be used. 4. When a file that has an XREF that is ATTACHED is XREFd into another file, the ATTACHED XREF will be seen by that third file. An OVERLAYd XREF will not be seen.
