Creating Layout so certain layers will open in every drawing

I am trying to find a way so that when I open AutoCAD, the layers that I need to use as a standard appear every time so that I do not have to make these same layers every time I open a new drawing. Is there a way to do this?

Yes. Very simply, create a template with all your layers, linetypes, text styles, dimension styles, etc. in it. Use this template every time you start a new drawing.

Plus, you need to tell AutoCAD to use that file you create on startup. Under Options|files|Template Settings, point that to the drawing you create with all your standards in them.

Create a drawing setup menu macro button to create all your std stuff. This way you can apply it to any drawing. Handy for when you need to work on someone elses drawing and cannot use a template.

Use macro recorder. Start with blank drawing. Press record and create all your std stuff. Store the macro and assign a button.

On completion save the drawing as a template and have both options.
