Faouweb
Hi, How can I put a light or a point on the center of a rectangle or a circle, and take the elevation from another shape as shown on this picture. I have tried with Point Filters but the point isn't on the middle and the elevation that I want This is how I did it: http://s18.postimage.org/8gdjs1ghz/Untitled2.gif Thank you . eldon
I am not able to view how you did it, but here is how I would use the Point Filters. Firstly, I would take a .XY filter to get the plan position, then using the .Z filter to get the elevation (using Osnaps as necessary to get the exact values)

tzframpton
Eldon is correct, the .XY is better to use if you know the exact point in the Plan View. But I think the reason why you had an error is in your method of choosing the X and the Y. You were backwards. Going by the image you uploaded, for each of the X and the Y point filter, swap the order in which you were choosing. Think about it. When you chose the X filter, you picked parallel to the X axis, not perpendicular to it. You want to pick positive or negative along the X axis, not right on the axis itself. Try that and see if it works too, just to resolve the issue you had.

eldon
I don't use 3D very much, so it would be useful to me if you could please post a drawing just containing the two 3D shapes.
